Little-known co Klassik files for bankruptcy of Rosgosstrakh owner

MOSCOW, Apr 10 (PRIME) -- Little-known company Klassik LLC has filed a bankruptcy suit against RGC Holding, one of the two core owners of one of Russia’s leading insurers Rosgosstrakh, to the Moscow Arbitration Court, as seen by PRIME on Friday in the materials of the register of arbitration cases.

The court is yet to start proceedings on the suit, and the suit’s matter was not disclosed.

But in January, the court obliged RGS Holding to redeem more than 1.4 billion rubles to Klassik under a loan contract signed in June 2017. Klassik received the rights for claims for the loan from Otkritie Investments Cyprus Limited, a company controlled by Otkritie Holding – the core shareholder of Otkritie Financial Corporation (FC) Bank in 2017. In its turn, Otkritie Investments Cyprus Limited received the rights from the initial loaner – Forcar Holdings Limited.

RGS Holding did not appeal against the court’s January decision, and it came in force.

As of February, the core shareholders of Rosgosstrakh were Otkritie FC Bank with the stake of 50.12% and RGS Holding with 49.3%.
